What Wormies is

Wormies is a reading app that lets a book club read their own copies of a book together. It is not a bookstore. It does not provide, host, copy or distribute books, and it does not remove or bypass DRM: a copy locked by a store's DRM (most Kindle purchases, Apple Books purchases, Kobo titles with Adobe or Kobo DRM) cannot be opened by Wormies or any other third-party app. DRM-free files from any source, in EPUB, Kindle, FictionBook, PDF, text or Markdown form, can.

Your books

You are responsible for having the right to read the files you open in Wormies. Book files stay on your device. Members of a club each need their own copy; the app only compares fingerprints to tell you whether copies match.

Your account and your clubs

• You need an Apple ID and must be at least 13 years old.
• You are responsible for what you post. Be kind, keep spoilers behind the shield, and respect other members.
• Club owners can remove members, delete notes in their club and close sessions. Members can leave at any time.
• We may hide content or suspend accounts that are reported for harassment, hate, sexual content involving minors, spam or illegal material.

Free tier, packs and tips

Wormies is free to download and use. Every account can create 5 book clubs and start 10 sessions at no cost. Joining clubs and sessions started by others is always free and unlimited. Capacity packs (+5 clubs or +10 sessions) are consumable in-app purchases sold through Apple at the price shown in the App Store. Tips are voluntary and unlock nothing. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; a refunded pack reduces your capacity but never removes clubs or sessions you already created.

Availability

We work hard to keep Wormies running, but it is provided as is, without warranties. We may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down we will give notice in the app and let you export your notes first.

Liability

To the extent allowed by law, Wormies is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and its total liability is limited to what you paid for packs in the previous twelve months.
